Finish the Story - (share your ending in a post for us!)

Not a Normal Zoo Day

It all started on a nice sunny day last April. All the kids in school were excited to be going to the zoo, but I was especially excited. I love animals and picnics, and going to the zoo is having both at the same time.
At the zoo, we got to see different animals in their cages and some of them were getting fed by their guards. Each of us had a favorite animal, and mine was the Elephant.
It was all going well, until Sam decided to mess around with the lock on the monkeys' cage and then............

The Largest Potato in The World!

Farmer Charlie was the best potato farmer in all of the state of Idaho, maybe the best in the whole world. He took pride in his work and did the best he could to grow the best and healthiest potatoes. He picked the best potatoes to plant, and made sure to give them the freshest water and nutrients. He made sure to clean them from pests, with a lot of work and as little harmful pesticides as possible.
At harvest time, farmer Charlie would spend his time making sure that his potatoes were ploughed out of the ground in a proper way so that they wouldn't get bruised or damaged. This season was a great season, lots of water and sunshine, great weather, and very little pests or insects. Farmer Charlie was looking forward to a great potato crop.
Farmer Charlie and his workers had a great potato crop but they were not done yet. There was a big patch of land that was so hard that the plough was not able dig it up. So farmer Charlie decided to leave it till the next day.
The next day farmer Charlie went to check that stubborn patch of dirt, but when he stuck his shovel into it, he discovered that it was ONE BIG potato that was covering the whole spot. This must be the biggest potato in the world he thought. He had to sit and think of a way to get it out. But how when he knew that this potato was bigger than a truck?! Farmer Charlie knew it was not going to be easy, but he had an idea. He decided to start by.........

Daytona 500 pics

BUILD, BAKE or MAKE

I am looking for some creativity!
There will be a contest for artistic ability in 3 categories.

BUILDING:
You may use anything from blocks, to Legos, to Lincoln Logs, to popsicle sticks, to cards! Whatever item you can find that allows you to BUILD something that is 3 dimensional.

COOKING/BAKING:
You can choose any type of recipe - breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacktime, dessert or side dish. Try to start with a recipe that you can do mostly by yourself, but help from Mom or Dad is okay for tough things like using the oven or cooking something on the stove. This does not have to be a hard recipe, just something having at least 3 ingredients. More ingredients are certainly welcome, though!

PAPER CRAFT:
You may use any type of paper (like white copypaper, card stock, or construction paper) or paper product, such as a paper plate, toweling paper, kleenex, etc. to create something nifty, colorful and unique! Your papercraft can be flat, have a pop-up, or stand up like a card or a box.

You may choose as many categories as you like, but you can only be given an award once! Sooooo, put on your thinking caps! Check out ideas in recipe books, craft books, or have your mom or dad help you find a safe recipe or craft site online! All entries for this contest must be posted by Friday at NOON. If you have any questions, just ask!
